What's up, all you dastardly bastards? Wink.
If you're interested in knowing what kind of projects I've been working on, I have physically felt well enough to create again.
Between you and I, bipolar has taken a lot of my time. Just doing regular things is a bitch, so I can't get past the minutia and into anything creative because of this stupid mood disorder thingy.
Now that my mind is working more properly, I have returned to blogging, tentatively, of course.
I've enjoyed making music lately, but it's become more challenging. For some reason, it had escaped me in the past that writing bars is just that, a form of writing. Something I was pretty sure I had lost.
It's been at least a good year since I've worked consistently as an artist. Since May of 2022, I spontaneously developed an interest in rap music. And y'all know me, I'm going to try to make it scary. Horror is kind of my thing. If it's not talking about something creepy, I'm basically not interested.
Right now, I'm working on a mixtape that tells a story about a hypothetical world in which witches and humans get into an argument.
This is more advanced than normal for me, because I voiced newscasts and put them on the track instead of writing a chorus.
I liked the way the newscast sound came out, but the project was still challenging because I had some microphone issues.
Just as voice acting has its trials and challenges, so too does rap music. When rapping, I've learned that the bars (lines of lyrics) and the theme are everything.
My project is called WÏT€H HÜNT, and the mixtape I have transparently decided to call it WÄ₹.
So far, I've done about 30 revisions on this track and re-recorded it at least twice. No cover art yet, but I intend to do that soon.
And the realm of mental health and bipolar, I feel like it's important for me to finish a project that has taken so much time. And on an overarching storyline level, to finish the mixtape as well.
So that's me, y'all know I bebop back and forth between weird shit that I get interested in. This year just happens to be rap music. Trust me, I'm much more surprised about it than you are. I think I'll get back to writing horror eventually, but for now I'm going to do it fast and loose over some type of drill beat. Hell, it's better than a memoir, and much more interesting. But I digress.
